Pick Angel Tree child for November (House of Hope)
Organization Description
The mission of Cumberland Good Samaritans, Inc., is to address the unmet needs of the citizens in Cumberland County by providing temporary emergency assistance and long-term solutions through true Christian charity. Good Samaritans is dedicated to accomplishing this mission through a multitude of high impact service programs. It provides many services including, food bank, clothing, emergency shelter, rent subsidy, budget counseling, furniture, Cumberland housing, pharmacy, burn-resource center, garden/heifer project, thrift outlet, toys for tots.

Organization Description
November House of Hope – Angel Tree Specified sizes of socks, PJ’s, underwear (“angel” chosen at Oct meeting; items returned at November meeting) The "House of Hope", is a safe haven for children who are often victims of abuse, neglect, drug endangerment and various other life altering tragedies. They work in partnership with our local law enforcement and with the Department of Children's Services, using the House of Hope to facilitate and assist with custody removals. These children are typically removed from very dangerous and heartbreaking situations, and they offer a safe haven for this to take place. These children have been removed from the only home and family they know, and they need care, love and reassurance. The House of Hope provides the necessity of clothing, feeding, and bathing, all in a safe, and positive atmosphere. Their annual “Angel Tree” projects supports their effort in this.

Peavine Care Center is a food pantry located at 44 N. Peavine Road in Crossville TN 38571. Their mission is to serve hungry families in Cumberland County. Food Distribution are on Wednesdays from 10:30 am - 12 noon. Much of their canned food and vegetables are donated, but they must purchase the meat. This supports their efforts.

Offers services to children who have undergone trauma. They offer trauma therapy, children’s care, outreach, education and counseling services. They also offer education for parents who are struggling with children in crisis or new parents that just need help in understanding what to do in special situations.

Fantastic Quilt Guild, QVO, handmakes quilts of valor, which are machine or hand quilted. Each quilt of valor is awarded to a Service member who has been touched by War.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Dept – K9 Unit

The City of Crossville Police Department has 4 K-9 Officers that are trained in narcotics, search and rescue, tracking both fugitives and lost persons. The dogs are trained in evidence retrival and are apprehensive dogs.

June Cumberland County Emergency and Rescue Squad Cash Donations This organization has been around for 60 years. Their mission is to save lives through quality emergency rescue services and provide community support and safety. They are prepared and trained to do specialty rescue services such as swift water rescues, dive search and rescue, cave rescues, high and low angle rescues, and other such services. They offer medical transport. They assist other emergency response organizations, such as law enforcement, fire fighters, EMT’s, and paramedics. They are an all-volunteer organization, and as such, all services are at no cost to Cumberland County citizens
