Southern Hospitality & History

About this event

This 3-day trip will take us to Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, AL. where we will learn about the Tuskegee Airmen at the Southern Museum of Flight.  We will also tour the Paul W. Bryant Museum and Stadium learning about Paul Bryant’s legacy as one of colleges’ most winning coaches and the history of the Alabama football program.   We will tour the Jemison-Van de Gaaf Museum and the Battle-Friedman house, two beautiful antebellum homes full of antiques and wonderful history.  On our journey home, we will stop in Scottsboro for a nostalgic journey down memory lane enjoying lunch at Payne’s Sandwich Shop & Soda Fountain, an old-fashioned soda fountain which has been in operation since 1869.
